Linda Rowett

Linda originates from Zimbabwe and she is a Director and Manager of Hope Trust.

 

She has trained in Ireland, the UK and South Africa. She holds a BA (Hons) in Community and Family, two Diplomas in Christian Counselling, and a Diploma in Supervision of Counsellors. In 2022 she trained in sandplay therapy to add to her work with adults.  She is registered with the Association of Christian Counsellors in UK.

 

Linda has been counselling for over 30 years and is experienced in working with complex family issues including trauma and abusive situations. She has managed counselling centres in both Ireland and South Africa. Previously she was a Director of Philippi Trust International and was a counsellor and trainer with Philippi Trust South Africa. This included involvement in organising psychosocial support camps for orphaned and vulnerable children along with support group work for those living with HIV virus.

 

Linda has a real concern for people who are grappling with fear, isolation, hopelessness and are in need of encouragement and understanding. She desires to see communities strengthened, particularly where the church can provide a “healing community” to those in need.  She has co-written a manual called Equipped to Care to assist those wanting to assist others struggling with life issues.

Linda is divorced, has three married children and  7 grandchildren. She loves God, people, gardening, playing the guitar and socializing over a “cuppa”.
